Cardiac rehab is more than just an hour at the
gym. It’s important to have access to the right
type of trained professionals. So before selecting
a facility, be sure it’s right for you.
The AACVPR (American Association of
Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation)
has a certification program. You can search for
programs in your area.
Questions to ask:
• Is the program certified?
• Is the program medically supervised (is there
a Medical Director)?
• Is the program capable of immediately
responding to a medical emergency (do they
have R.N.s, a crash cart, and an AED)?
• Does the program have education on
secondary prevention and lifestyle?
